My first tag- Crazy 8's

8 FAVORITE SHOWS
Sadly, it's true. We don't have cable or an antenna, and I don't know when I would watch TV anyway. So I don't have one favorite show. Pathetic and boring, I know.

8 THINGS I DID YESTERDAY
1. Took the kids to a park without throwing up (Last trip I found out that I had a stomach virus by vomiting at the playground. Fun fun.)
2.Stalked the recycling truck with Leighton (He loves big trucks so each Tuesday and Friday we watch the garbage trucks come.)
3. Tried to contact a long lost friend
4. Decided I must get my haircut immediately because I haven't had a haircut since we moved here in July (which will happen this evening.)
5. Packed our first box for our (hopefully last) move in December!!!
6. Scheduled a time for us to sign our closing papers for our house.
7. Scheduled a doctor's appointment for Jonathan (He has a monster cough/cold)
8. Spent time with my wonderful husband, though it wasn't much because he was just taking a sick day from work and he slept most of the day.

8 THINGS I LOOK FORWARD TO (Maybe some of these should be on my wishlist)
1. Family coming for Christmas
2. Leighton being potty-trained
3. Losing weight
4. Having 2 cars
5. Feeling "in control" with 2 children
6. Being prepared and organized
7. Not moving for a few years
8. Continual weather with highs below 80 degrees (Nope, not here yet)

8 FAVORITE RESTAURANTS (I wish I had cheaper taste.)

7. Patience in every circumstance
8. To live up to the expectations I have for myself

Leighton Language

June 24, 2009- Mom, you see those mountains? I'm gonna climb them. You want to climb them with me?
Me: Right now we need are going to the movies. We can't climb the mountains.
Leighton: I want to climb the mountains. You're big. You have to climb them with me.

June 22, 2009- Dad, I need my hat. It's windying.

May 2, 2009- In the bathtub, he said to his first toe, "This little piggy went to the market."
To the second, "This little piggy stayed home."
To the third and fourth, "This little piggy stayed home, and this little piggy stayed home.
To the last, "And this piggy went wee wee wee all the way home."

March 30, 2009- Leighton was sitting in front of the laptop. I said, "Leighton, what are you doing?" He said, "I'm just checking my amail."

A few minutes later he came around the island in the kitchen and said, "Momma, I'm gonna get married, and I'm gonna go see whales." He is a little confused because my sister is getting married in San Diego, and we have been talking about going to Sea World while we are there. I think he thinks whales are somehow related to getting married.

March 12, 2009- Leighton started crying in his bed early this morning. I ran to him and asked him what was wrong. He said, holding his sock, "I miss my sock on."

March 12, 2009- "I went to basketball game. I clapped the white team. I can't clap the red team." He was remembering the game he went to on his birthday a month and a half ago. Jonathan was trying to encourage him to cheer for the right team.

March 11, 2009- Leighton, upon waking up, said, "I want Daddy." I said, "He's at work, baby." Leighton, "I want to cook dinner." Leighton thinks that Daddy just comes home because we cook dinner. I had to explain to him that Daddy couldn't come home yet.

February 23, 2009- "Mom, will you hold my hands and dance with me...to the music?"

February 19, 2009- After offering Savannah some of his biscuit and honey, I said, "Savannah can't have that yet." (Referring to the honey) Leighton's reply, "Girls don't eat biscuits." (I have celiac disease and can't have wheat, so in a way this is a true statement in our house.)

Later that day I asked Leighton to get me a tissue for Savannah's nose. He said, "Girls get tissues. And girls wear hairbows at Walmart." Even as a two year old he is taking notes about the opposite sex.

January 31, 2009--Leighton: "I want to go to a football player." Me: "You mean you want to be a football player when you grow up." Leighton: "No, I can't. I'm gonna be a man. And have babies." Me: "You are going to have babies after you grow up and get married?" Leighton: "Yep, I'm gonna get married."

December 12, 2008- Leighton: "I want medicine." Me: "You don't need medicine, so you can't have any." Leighton: "I want to need medicine."

December 6, 2008-"I'm gonna go say a prayer," as Leighton darted into our downstairs bathroom. On the weekends Jonathan and I are usually awakened by children, so Jonathan ends up saying his morning prayer downstairs in the bathroom because it is the only place to get away from the chaos. Leighton always tries to be just like his daddy.

October 27, 2008- As Jonathan was giving a lesson to Leighton at Family Home Evening about our Savior, Jesus Christ, Leighton, who is recently obsessed with scaring people, poked at the picture we were showing him and said, "I scare you, Jesus." We couldn't keep our composure.

October 26, 2008- Leighton, after grunting several times, said, "I poop, Momma. It's stuck," followed by several more grunts.

September 26, 2008
Leighton, who recently discovered the concept of "2", realized he had two parents, but that he didn't know the collective term for parents. "Two, momma, daddy, two."
